Manjeera Ganguly was born in Kolkata on 4th December, 1985. Inspite of being academically strong, she always had an inclination towards music. She started learning Indian Classical music at the age of 5 and since then she is an avid student of music always striving for performance par excellence. She was the winner of Rock with Sonu Nigam reality show on 92.7 Big FM. She was one of the finalists of X Factor reality show on Sony TV.
She completed her Graduation in Communicative English from Kolkata University with high First Class and then shifted her base to Mumbai in 2008 to persue career in music.
She was one of the prominent contestants in Hero Honda Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2005 on the Zee TV in the gharana of Jatin Lalit where they made the below said comments about Manjeera.
There she started learning Western Music (vocals) which helped her in adapting the modern nuances of Western style of singing merging it with Indian Classical music. Initial years in Mumbai proved to be a struggle. But her dedication and hard work along with her talent could not keep her away from work for long.
